Dr. Jad Abdallah
Dean of Students, Byblos
Dr. Jad Abdallah joined LAU’s School of Pharmacy in 2009, and now serves as an associate professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He was appointed Dean of Students in Byblos in August 2021.
During his LAU years, Dr. Abdallah has been involved in advising, career counseling, orientation, graduation, student clubs and activities. He has also participated in the recruitment and retention of students.
He holds a PhD in Structure, Function and Protein Engineering and an MS in Proteomics from Paris Diderot University, an MS in Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Genetics and a BS in Life and Earth Sciences from Saint Joseph University, and a BE in Agriculture from the Lebanese University.
Previously, Dr. Abdallah was acting assistant dean for Student Affairs at LAU School of Pharmacy (2011-2014), and the co-curricular program coordinator (2020-2021). He is a fellow of the Daniel Turnberg – British Academy of Medical Sciences, UNESCO and the Ile-de-France Region, and serves as the local ambassador of the Biochemical Society.
Among his research interests are chaperone proteins protecting cells against protein denaturation and possible degradation of misfolded proteins, and molecular and epidemiological studies of the SARS-CoV-2 virus progression in Lebanon.
