Obituary of Mr. Abdallah Tamari
Dear members of the LAU family and Community,
We learned with deep sadness of the passing of Mr. Abdallah Tamari, father of former Trustee Mr. Nicolas Tamari.
The late Mr. Abdallah Tamari was a great supporter of LAU, a repeat donor, and a trusted friend. Abdallah was truly an exceptional individual to whom LAU will always owe a big debt of gratitude as a community leader, philanthropist, and role model. Our abiding appreciation of all that he has done for Lebanon, his community, and his beloved LAU was behind the university’s decision to award him an honorary doctorate in the 2013 Commencement.
His iconic stature was well recognized and widely acknowledged, and will live on in the memory of his many admirers and friends. Mr. Tamari was a successful business leader, a community magnate with an inspiring commitment to higher education, and the object of much admiration by his many friends all over the world. He will be missed and remembered by LAU.
May his soul rest in peace and may his family and friends find solace in celebrating his rich life.
