Fall 2020 regulations and Drop and Add period guide
Dear Students,
On behalf of the entire LAU Family, I would like to welcome you back to LAU and wish you a great Fall 2020 semester. The semester will start on Tuesday, September 1st, and we are doing our best to make sure this start is as smooth as possible. For this purpose, we have enabled a self-enroll feature on Blackboard that will allow you to sample courses that are available on Blackboard during the drop and add period. For courses not already available on Blackboard, you can directly contact the course instructor.
Self-enrollment on available Blackboard courses:
- The self-enroll period starts on Monday, August 31st and ends on Wednesday, September 2nd
- Kindly check the attached document for the steps to search and self-enroll in a course
- Self-enrolling on Blackboard DOES NOT mean that you have registered the course
- If you want to keep being enrolled in the course, make sure to register it on Banner
- All self-enrolled students who did not register the course on Banner will be removed from the Blackboard course on Thursday, September 3rd
- Student who will drop from some courses on Banner during the period of August 31st until September 2nd will not be dropped from Blackboard until September 3rd
- For any questions regarding the self-enroll feature, kindly contact: COVID19.support@lau.edu.lb
The below are some general rules and regulations:
- During the live online class sessions, faculty members could require you at any time to turn your audio and video camera on for verification and attendance purposes.
- Final exams will normally be in person, unless students are abroad.

- Throughout the semester, the instructors will identify each student and compare his/her face on camera to the one in the university database.
- During the live online sessions, the attendance policy will be applied according to the policy stated in the course syllabus.
- All the rules and policies stated in the Student Code of Conduct will be applied during the Fall 2020 semester.
