Continuity of Learning Update for Students
Dear Students,
I hope this message finds you and your families safe and well.
Please note the following updates regarding teaching modalities and exams/assessments:
- Courses will continue to be offered using the flexible hybrid teaching modality that has been in effect since October 21, 2024.
- To accommodate your needs while prioritizing your safety, instructors may adjust course grading to include a range of alternative assessments beyond in-person exams, such as quizzes, assignments, projects, and presentations.
- Based on current requirements of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE), final exams will be conducted in person. For other course exams, where required, you are strongly encouraged to take them on campus, if you can safely reach either the Beirut or Byblos locations.
- If you are in the country but unable to safely reach either campus for exams, please inform your instructor and department chair/program director, providing a justification.
- If you miss your final exams, you may receive a grade of “Incomplete” and be required to take the exam at a later date.
- If you are abroad and unable to return to the country, alternative assessment options (e.g., projects, oral presentations, and quizzes) will be considered for all exams. Please contact your instructor and department chair/program director for more information and support.
We are committed to providing you with the support necessary during this extremely difficult time.
Please take care and stay safe.
Sincerely,
George Nasr
