Message to Students-Update on Continuity of Learning

Dear Students,

I hope this message finds you and your families safe. As we continue to face these exceptionally challenging times, your security and well-being remain at the forefront of our concerns, alongside our commitment to your academic success.

After reflecting on the current situation, we have decided to resume instruction on Monday, October 7, 2024. To ensure that your academic progress remains on track while prioritizing everyone’s safety, classes will generally be conducted online. In special cases where experiential learning requires it, plans may be made to hold the classes on campus. Your school dean will provide specific arrangements as needed. Campus academic resources, such as libraries, studios, and labs, will also be available to support the learning process.

As some of you may be facing exceptional circumstances, flexibility will be central to how we manage the coming period. Updates, further instructions, and guidance from your school will be emailed to you as well, so please check your LAU email regularly.

If you require any special accommodations or additional support, please reach out to your school for more information at the support email address listed below:

Also, please note that the Deans of Students Offices’ support services are available to assist you either in person or by contacting your campus Dean of Students: jabdallah@lau.edu.lb  (Byblos) and rmohsen@lau.edu.lb (Beirut).

We realize the difficulty of the situation that may have caused some of you or your loved ones to leave your homes and we want you to know that we will continue to do all that is possible to support you during this period. We also extend our heartfelt condolences to those who have lost loved ones and wish a swift recovery to those who have been injured.

In these times, our resilience as a community will guide us through. Together, we will overcome these challenges and move forward, stronger than ever.

Stay safe and take care.

Sincerely,

George E. Nasr, Ph.D.
