Website Outage
Posted
The LAU website was on the receiving end of a large-scale Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack for several days as of December 10. An alternative webpage published to help the community reach critical online applications was also affected a few days later.
We greatly regret the inconvenience this event has caused to all our website visitors, especially to students and faculty during final exams week. The departments concerned are looking into acquiring online services that would reduce the impact of any similar event in the future.
For more information or assistance, please contact MarCom (on webmaster@lau.edu.lb / 01-786456 ext. 1465) or the IT Help Desk (on helpdesk@lau.edu.lb / 01-786456 ext 1000).
