Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to high academic achievers and can be continued into subsequent years provided the eligibility criteria are maintained.
There are two types of scholarships; scholarships that you need to apply to and scholarships that may be awarded to you without an application based on your academic record.
Scholarships that You Need to Apply to
Merit Scholarships for National Students (100% of Tuition)
Merit scholarships are awarded to a number of outstanding high school students covering 100% of the recipient’s tuition and aim to encourage and promote academic excellence.
Eligibility requirements:
To be considered for a merit scholarship, you must:
- be a Lebanese citizen.
- be in the final year of secondary school studying for the Lebanese Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, or International Baccalaureate.
- achieve academic excellence in high school.
- demonstrate extra-curricular involvement and leadership skills.
- submit your SAT scores.
Application procedure:
- Apply for admissions, then apply online for the Merit Scholarship by February 15 at the latest.
- Only COMPLETE files, with all documents, received by February 15 will be considered.
Athletic Scholarship
Athletic scholarships are awarded to newly admitted students with recognized athletics skills.
Eligibility requirements: Have an athletic award, prize or recognition.
Application procedure:
- Fill out the Athletic scholarship application form and submit it to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office by April 15 at the latest.
- Submit all supporting documents confirming skills in the specified athletics field.
- The Athletic Scholarship selection committee will evaluate applications and selected candidates will receive a confirmation letter
USAID Higher Education Scholarship Program (HES USP RSS)
University Scholarship Program (USP) and Refugee/Displaced Scholarship Support (RSS) provide undergraduate scholarships to promising public and private high school students and technical school graduates from all governorates of Lebanon.

This is a MEPI initiative for capable and highly motivated high school seniors in the Middle East and North Africa who are from underserved backgrounds.

Scholarships that May be Awarded to You
Baccalaureate Scholarships (30% of Tuition)
Baccalaureate (Bacc.) scholarships are awarded to newly admitted students covering 30% of the tuition fees based on their Lebanese, International or French official Baccalaureate exam results.
Eligibility requirements: Obtain excellent scores on the official Baccalaureate.
Procedure: No application is required; this scholarship is automatically awarded to qualified students upon submission of their official exam results.
SAT Scholarships (50% of Tuition)
SAT scholarships are awarded to newly admitted students covering 50% of the tuition fees based on their SAT scores.
Eligibility requirements: Obtain a high SAT score.
Procedure: No application is required; the SAT scholarship is automatically awarded to qualified upon submitting their official SAT results.
Entrance Scholarships (10-30% of Tuition)
Entrance scholarships are awarded to newly admitted students covering from 10% to 30% of the tuition fees based on a combination of high school grades and SAT scores if applicable.
Eligibility requirements: Achieve excellent academic performance in high school grades and obtain high SAT scores.
Procedure: No application is required; the entrance scholarship is automatically awarded to qualified students upon submitting their official high school grades and SAT results.
Honor Scholarships for Continuing LAU Students (10% of Tuition)
After the lapse of the first academic year, all students who have completed 24 GPA and or P/NP credits at LAU and have a CGPA of 3.5 and above, are eligible for a 10% Honor if they are not already benefiting from any other merit-based scholarship.
Merit-based Awards
Merit-based Awards are granted to new students who have previously participated and won a competition that took place at LAU such as the LAU MUN, LAU MAL, LAU MEU, LAU MGG, summer camps, or major related competitions.
CNRS Scholarships
In collaboration with the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS), LAU is offering full scholarships to the top three students in Lebanon with the highest scores in the official Lebanese Baccalaureate.
The National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) is a public institution established in 1962 and assigned with the task of formulating national science and technology policy, initiating, guiding, supporting and conducting scientific research programs and activities in Lebanon.
Eligibility requirements:
- Rank among the top three in any of the four sections of the Lebanese Baccalaureate exam (General Science, Life Science, Economics/Sociology, or Humanities).
- Be a Lebanese citizen.
Procedure: No application is required. As a top student among the three highest scorers in the Lebanese Baccalaureate, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education will pass on your name to the CNRS and you will be notified and invited to an orientation session.
