Full-Time Faculty Position in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence
Location: Lebanese American University (LAU), ITOM Department – Beirut/Byblos, Lebanon
Position Type: Full-Time, Tenure-Track
Start Date: Fall 2025
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Data Analytics, AI, Blockchain, Data Engineering, Big Data, and Predictive Analytics.
- Lead course development and enhancement in areas such as AI in Business, Advanced Data Mining, Blockchain Applications, Data Engineering, and Applied Machine Learning.
- Supervise undergraduate capstone projects and graduate theses.
- Conduct high-impact research, with a focus on publishing in leading journals and engaging in interdisciplinary projects.
- Collaborate with the department in designing innovative approaches to integrate data analytics and blockchain into existing programs.
- Mentor students and support their academic and professional growth.
- Build connections with industry partners to enhance experiential learning and research collaboration.
Qualifications
- PhD in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Data Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field from a recognized university.
- A strong research record demonstrated through publications in reputable Q1/Q2 journals.
- Proven ability to teach courses in data analytics, AI, blockchain, data engineering, and business intelligence, utilizing tools such as Python, R, SQL, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Experience with applied projects, consulting, or partnerships with industry is highly desirable.
- Strong commitment to innovation in teaching, including the use of experiential and project-based learning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a diverse academic setting.
Preferred Areas of Expertise (One or More):
- AI applications in business operations and decision-making.
- Advanced Machine Learning techniques for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Blockchain technologies and their applications in business and operations.
- Data Engineering pipelines, big data, and data-driven decision-making.
- Business Intelligence, Data Visualization, and dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Ethical and responsible AI and blockchain practices in business.

The Department strives to generate knowledgeable people who are adept at managing information technology and who can effectively contribute to their businesses and communities in a constantly changing technological environment. It also strives to actively collaborate with the corporate sector, consistently innovate, and raise the bar on its research so as to improve the efficacy of education and its reach around the globe.
