Job Summary
The Department of Social and Education Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor or Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in Political Science. The department is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members who are committed to research, innovative teaching, program development and academic advising.
The Department of Social and Education Sciences is an interdisciplinary department with faculty committed to high-quality undergraduate and graduate instruction across the social sciences. Our department offers four undergraduate programs in political science, political science/international affairs, psychology, and education; 4 graduate programs in International Affairs, Interdisciplinary Gender Studies, Education and Migration studies; and five minors in conflict analysis and resolution, legal studies, political science/international affairs, psychology, and sociology. We offer as well two diplomas: Teaching Diploma and Diploma in Learning Disability and Giftedness.
Job Qualifications
Prospective candidates must have earned a PhD in Political Science from a recognized University and have an excellent publication record or excellent teaching record and/or work experience for the practice track. Recent graduates with exceptional academic credentials are encouraged to apply.
While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, the department is especially interested in candidates with research specialization in one or more of the following broadly defined areas: Comparative Politics, International Relations, Conflict Resolution, Quantitative analysis and Qualitative analysis.
