The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applicants for part-time teaching positions in Beirut campus for the Fall 2025 semester (from August 28, 2025 to December 19, 2025). The department is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members to teach one or more of the below courses:
COE 423 – Computer Architecture
This course introduces computer components and systems. Topics include evolution of computer systems, bus interconnections, I/O mechanisms, memory management and hierarchy, instruction set design, and basic pipelined techniques.
COE 418 – Database Systems
This course covers the data modeling, relational database, SQL, query languages, object oriented databases, and client-server databases.
COE 493 – Professionalism in Engineering
This course provides an overview of the nature and scope of engineering profession and the critical role of sustainable development in engineering solutions. It includes working in multidisciplinary team environments, exploring professional and ethical responsibilities, and analyzing the impact of engineering in a global and societal context. Students will engage with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), connecting every course project to one or more SDGs. The course also covers lifelong learning and contemporary issues in engineering.
ELE 537 – Communication Systems
Basic principles of point-to-point communication link design and analysis, introduction to the theory and principles of modern communication systems, overview of the currently used analog and digital communication techniques and their relative advantages and disadvantages, analog modulation and demodulation, component parts used in analog and digital transceivers.
COE 599 Advanced Topics in Computer Engineering
This technical elective course covers the treatment of new developments in various areas of computer engineering.
ELE 599 Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering
This technical elective course covers the treatment of new developments in various areas of electrical engineering.
Applicants must have obtained a PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field by the time of appointment. Applicants must have good oral and written English communication skills. Priority will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience or relevant work experience.
