The Strategic Communications Department is looking for an Audiovisual Content Creator reporting to the Director of Creative Services. This position is based on the Beirut campus with occasional commuting to the Byblos campus.Role Summary
The Audiovisual Content Creator is mainly responsible for conceptualizing, planning and executing compelling high-quality multimedia content, including video, photography, and animation in support of student enrollment, fundraising, and reputational/brand campaigns. He/she will facilitate the production of audiovisual projects to enhance LAU’ visibility in advertising, recruitment material, digital marketing and social media.
The Audiovisual Content Creator will also be managing StratCom’s image bank, including organizing, tagging, and archiving all multimedia content produced by the department. This entails methodically filing all audiovisual material (photoshoot images, event images, existing image bank, footages, rushes, edits) for ease of search, ease of access, and ease of future use and enriching the photo and video library of LAU by pro-actively going on the ground and capturing fresh material that could be used in future communications.
This position requires flexibility with working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates with various creators (writers, designers, illustrators, web developers, social media operators) to develop multimedia concepts that effectively communicate the stated messages and objectives
- Creates attention-grabbing high-quality multimedia content, including video, photography, and animation
- Initiates and follows through the video production process, including developing synopsis, mood-boarding, filming, editing, supers, visual aids, and audio tracks
- Utilizes industry-standard video editing software to bring the raw footage together into cohesive, engaging, and professional video content. Edits and enhances video elements, adds graphics, sound effects, music, and other elements to create polished final products
- Maintains a well-organized multimedia archive, composed of all multimedia content produced by the department, for ease of search, ease of access, and ease of future use
- Collaborates with external vendors, including photographers, videographers, and animators, to ensure that the work meets the highest standards. Supervises outsourced projects to ensure timely and on-brief delivery
- Conducts ad hoc footage searches for projects or social media posts; provides selection to requesters
- Stays up to date with the latest trends and techniques in multimedia production and implements best practices in the university’s communication efforts
- Oversees multimedia equipment upkeep, including cameras, phones, lighting, and audio equipment, and appropriate use of multimedia equipment
- Performs other duties pertaining to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communication/audiovisual arts/TV or filmmaking
- 6 years of work experience in a production house or an agency, as any or all of the following: film director, director of photography, producer, editor, on site photographer, event photographer
- Advanced skills in photography, videography, lighting, sound, editing, motion graphics, animated contact creation, image retouching and color correction.
- Advanced skills of Adobe graphic and editing software (Photoshop, Premiere, After effect, Audio audition, etc.)
- Excellent time management skills, organization, attention to details, flexibility, adaptability and pro-activeness
- Experience with producing for social media channels and other video-based digital platforms
- Proficient in motion animations and incorporating graphics and text into video edits
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effortlessly collaborate with others, both internally and externally
