Institutional Research Analyst
The Institutional Research & Assessment Department is currently looking for an Institutional Research Analyst reporting to the Assistant to the President for Institutional Research & Assessment. This is a central position that requires presence on both Beirut and Byblos campuses.Role Summary
The Institutional Research Analyst supports university-wide data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making. Under the guidance of the Assistant to the President for IRA, the analyst designs and manages data sets, conducts statistical analyses, and ensures accurate dissemination of institutional data. S/he ensures data integrity and facilitates institutional research practices to enhance institutional performance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Collects, extracts, cleanses and aggregates data from various sources within the institution for further use and analysis, maintaining university-wide data sets
- Performs customized statistical analysis, data mining activities and predictive analysis using available business intelligence tools to interpret data and derive meaningful insights about institution’s characteristics and performance
- Accurately summarizes and presents data and results in meaningful reports including numerical, graphical and interactive dashboard formats for dissemination and publication
- Conducts trend analysis and benchmarking using institutional and external data sources
- Transforms data into actionable insights to support decision-making impacting policies and improving institutional effectiveness
- Proactively conducts needs assessment in data analysis and reporting to support end user research needs and operations in close collaboration with university stakeholders
- Analyzes institutional surveys to identify trends, providing data for informed decision making
- Coordinates with IT and relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive data warehouse system to house periodic datasets
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for data collection and reporting processes to ensure data integrity
- Carries out research projects and any additional institutional duty responding to ad-hoc requests
- Stays up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the role
- Provides backup support when needed to ensure continuity of operations
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in statistics, social sciences, data analytics, data science, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of work experience, out of which 3 are in data analytics
- Highly skilled in data analytics software such as SPSS, SAS, Excel, SQL, R or Tableau
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Cognos)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Proficiency in English communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality of records and information
