Institutional Research Officer
The Institutional Research & Assessment Department is currently looking for an Institutional Research Officer reporting to the Assistant to the President for Institutional Research & Assessment. This is a central position that requires presence on both Beirut and Byblos campuses.Role Summary
The Institutional Research Officer is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data and information to support the university’s internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures the provision of accurate and timely information for decision-making, planning, policy formulation, and institutional effectiveness initiatives. A strong focus on data analytics, visualization, and the creation of dashboards is essential to enhance the university’s data-driven decision-making processes.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Collects and houses data across the institution’s various functions by accessing relevant information systems and through the institutional business intelligence tool (IBM Cognos)
- Ensures the proper collection and warehousing of essential institutional data not integrated into existing systems to support comprehensive reporting activities
- Collects, analyzes, and disseminates data and information to provide the university’s internal and external constituencies with accurate and timely information
- Responds to internal recurring and ad-hoc data requests from different administrative and academic units
- Handles diverse external data requests from accreditation agencies, ranking agencies, and government bodies
- Creates and maintains dashboards using data visualization and business intelligence (BI) tools to support data-driven decision-making processes
- Develops visual reports and graphs that effectively communicate complex data insights to various university stakeholders
- Provides analytical support for institutional effectiveness and continuous improvement initiatives by delivering actionable insights through data visualization
- Analyzes and evaluates student achievement data related to curricular and co-curricular outcomes to support institutional and program accreditation efforts
- Assists in academic program reviews by providing detailed data analysis and assessment
- Prepares and disseminates key institutional statistics through yearly publications such as the Fact Book, Brochure, and Facts & Figures
- Maintains and periodically updates the department webpage with relevant data and reports
- Oversees and manages the administration of course evaluations and institutional surveys using the institutional survey tool (BLUE)
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience, out of which 1 is in a related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Power BI
- Business intelligence skills, with demonstrated ability to create and manage dashboards
- Advanced data analysis and statistical skills
- Proficiency in research methodologies and the ability to design, conduct, and analyze studies
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and quality
- Independent learner with a proactive approach to acquiring new skills and staying current with technological and methodological advancements
- Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Sound independent judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic
- Strong multi-tasking abilities and exceptional organizational skills
