The Information Technology Department / IT Infrastructure Office is currently looking for an Assistant Multimedia Administrator reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure. This position is based on Byblos campus with occasional commuting to Beirut Campus as well as the LAU Medical Centers and the School of Medicine facility in Achrafieh.Role Summary
The Assistant Multimedia Administrator is mainly responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance and repairs of the IT Technology and Audio-Visual equipment across the university in all teaching and learning spaces. S/he will also train and assist faculty and staff on the use of this technology within the teaching and learning framework.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists with the maintenance, repair and renovation of the technology equipment inside the learning spaces such as, but not limited to, AV/touch panels, control systems, projection, lighting, conferencing equipment, digital signage and other technologies for learning spaces
- Assists in the installation, configuration and replacement of learning spaces devices
- Assists in programming, maintaining, monitoring, and updating control systems (currently Crestron)
- Upgrades learning space equipment as per schedule
- Ensures that the smart classrooms and video conferencing rooms are functioning properly according to their schedules. Continuously monitors the status of the learning spaces, takes immediate action to keep them operational and keep system down time to a minimum
- Assists with the inventory of equipment and supplies; monitors the repair and replacement of non-working, damaged and/or obsolete equipment
- Provides second line support for IT Technology and Audio-Visual equipment at learning spaces
- Ensures that user incidents and service requests are logged and tracked
- Stays abreast the latest technology to develop skills in order to remain effective in this role
- Maintains a collaborative work environment
- Provides backup support when needed, to ensure continuity of operations
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication or Computer Science
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in audio visual or presentation technologies
- Certification in Crestron Controllers programing is a plus
- Extensive experience with presentation technologies
- IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Operating Systems (windows, Mac, Android), computer applications (PowerPoint, Excel…) and internet services
- Knowledge in collaboration tools (WebEX, Zoom, Microsoft Teams…)
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve problems in a practical manner
- Excellent communication skills
- Service excellence and customer focus
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness with attention to detail in performing work duties
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work within a diversified team and foster a spirit of cooperation and integrity
Working Conditions
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit/ frequent standing and walking. Should be able to work atop ladders and to lift 20Kg. Should be able to carry heavy material, frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Working Schedule
This position follows a normal work schedule, with possible/occasional attendance after hours and/or during weekends or holidays to participate in events or course activities, to ensure business continuity and/or adequate coverage and/or to provide backup during staff absences.
