Part-Time Payroll Specialist - Beirut
The Human Resources Department is currently looking for a Payroll Specialist reporting to the Director of Campus Compensation & Benefits. This position is based on the Beirut campus.Role Summary
The Payroll Specialist is mainly responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of specific payroll transactions, maintaining payroll records, assisting with benefits reconciliation, and responding to payroll-related inquiries.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Processes and verifies payroll transactions, including new hires, salary changes, additional earnings, and tax information
- Supports the reconciliation of payroll figures with the Business Office and assists in resolving discrepancies
- Maintains and updates payroll-related records, including employee benefits, deductions, insurance premiums, education fees and pension eligibility
- Helps verify and process medical, life, LTD, premiums, education fees and pension eligibility
- Assists in preparing payroll reports, quarter-end and year-end reports, and documentation for audits
- Provides employees with payroll-related information, including tax forms, direct deposit setups, and benefits deductions
- Assists in maintaining compliance with payroll tax regulations and university policies
- Organizes payroll files, correspondence, and documentation to ensure efficient recordkeeping
- Acts as a backup for payroll processing and office staff when needed to ensure continuity of operations
- Stays informed about payroll regulations, policies, and industry best practices
- Prepares and reports on data as requested
- Provides backup support when needed to ensure continuity of operations
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in payroll, accounting standards, Lebanese Labor & Tax Law and NSSF regulations
- Knowledge of Lebanese Labor law, NSSF Regulations, Tax Laws
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g.Oracle E-business) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Accuracy and thoroughness, ability to work under pressure
- Ability to uphold organizational values and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively within a team and handle multiple tasks under deadlines
