LAUers in More Ways than One

Walid El Abdallah

I am very blessed to have been part of the LAU family since 2004. It is not only my workplace, but also my home.

Because of LAU, my biggest dream has come true. When I first brought my two daughters to the Beirut campus, I told them about my dream of attending a graduation ceremony like other parents, waiting for their names to be called, and receiving their degrees on stage in front of everyone. I used to tear up whenever I saw students graduating, and I couldn’t believe it would happen until two of my children did it. Words cannot describe how grateful I am to LAU for realizing this dream, and I hope to see my remaining youngest child graduate just like them.

To my daughter: I am so proud of your accomplishment and very happy that your hard work has paid off, and I wish you continued success and happiness in your life. I advise you to chase your dreams and never give up, no matter what happens, and despite the obstacles that you might face. Life is not easy at all, but I am sure I raised you up to be able to handle difficult situations very well.
