High Distinction
Dear Clea,
It is Clea’s Graduation: June 16, 2023, a true milestone of pride and inspiration.
As an alumnus and current faculty member of LAU, this day holds a special place in my heart, knowing that my daughter Clea has followed in my footsteps.
I still recall the day I completed my educational journey at the LAU Byblos campus back in the late 1990s. I understood then that the knowledge I had acquired would serve as a foundation for my future success, and indeed, it has. However, little did I imagine that one day I would stand alongside the esteemed university president, Dr. Michel Mawad, representing not only the faculty but also a proud parent, to hand my daughter Clea her TV & Film diploma—a testament to a lifetime of love and support.
Clea’s dedication, hard work, and academic achievements have earned her a remarkable accolade, graduating with high distinction, which makes me even prouder. Throughout her years at the university, she actively participated in various activities, joined student organizations, excelled academically, and developed a strong passion for her field of study.
As a faculty member of LAU, I had the privilege of being Clea’s mentor, and I witnessed her growth firsthand. I saw her navigate the challenges and triumphs of university life with grace and determination. Every step of her journey was accompanied by the unwavering support and encouragement of family members, from late-night study sessions to exams, writing papers and scripts, all the way to filming sets. These experiences contributed to her pursuit of knowledge and personal growth.
As the graduation day drew to a close, Clea reflected on the incredible journey she had embarked upon at LAU. She understood that this graduation was not just an ending but a beginning, a stepping-stone toward a future filled with limitless possibilities. With her diploma in hand, she stood ready to leave her mark on the world.
Following the ceremony, in a gathering to celebrate this significant achievement, we looked back on Clea’s journey and couldn’t help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunities that LAU has provided for us both.
As an inspiring piece of advice, I urged Clea to cherish this moment, embrace the emotions that come with it, and use it as a foundation for her future endeavors. I encouraged her to continue learning, strive for excellence, and never lose sight of the positive impact she could make in the world.
Roger
To my dear parents,
No words are enough to describe how grateful I am for all your love, support, patience, and understanding. I would not be where I am today without all that you have provided me, especially during my time at university. Throughout the years, your teachings have shaped me, and I continue to learn from you each day. I am proud to be your daughter and am determined to make you proud of me as well.
