In all honesty, I had the best moments at LAU because of the friendly and supportive staff. The care and consideration they have for their students are indescribable. This made me feel so comfortable being myself and growing at my own pace.
When I was at LAU’s Byblos campus, I met a phenomenal human being who not only inspired me back then but is a role model to me today, Miss Zeina Trad Barakat, director of student services. She always ensured that all students’ needs were met in every way no matter what it took. She also motivated me to volunteer at the International Federation for Family Development. I had the opportunity to participate in virtual conferences that aimed to analyze case studies and tackle topics such as emotional intelligence and real-life situations.
Miss Barakat made sure it would be an unforgettable experience for me at LAU when she nominated me for the Torch Award, given for leadership and service spirit at LAU. I had the honor of graduating this year not only with distinction but with the Torch Award as well. I find this achievement priceless and hopefully, more is yet to come.
When I graduated from high school, I thought I already understood everything. At LAU, however, I discovered that knowledge is infinite. I learned a lot and can say that I am proud of who I became. The environment I grew up in and the people I met at the university shaped my whole four-year experience. Now, I am more open-minded, patient, determined, and appreciative in my life, and this has been utterly rewarding in both my personal and professional lives. I am planning on staying in Lebanon for as long as I can, especially by my family’s side. I am now being interviewed for various jobs at some renowned companies! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.
