Rola Sharrouf, Lead Staff Relations Associate – Beirut campus
Maintaining a positive outlook to help and support others.
Ever since the start of the lockdown, I tried to maintain a positive outlook on matters and to plan my day ahead in a balanced and fruitful manner.
I have devoted a comfortable and quiet corner of my home in the mountains as a working space, which helped me stay focused and productive. I have managed to sustain my work duties and remain constantly available to staff members and colleagues, even those who have newly come on-board. I communicated with them regularly, responding to their enquiries and providing them with essential information related to our university’s policies and procedures.
As a team at the office, we continued to hold regular meetings through Webex for all work-related matters and as a support to one another. We have also been researching and compiling useful ideas and tips to share with our community to help them cope better and keep a positive mindset despite the difficulties.
Being part of such a remarkable institution that is always keen on its community’s safety and wellbeing has forever been a rewarding experience and a source of utmost pride and belonging. Together, we can weather this storm, and faith, hope and optimism can always carry us far.
